Design and The Environment

Buildings have many qualities as they relate to and reflect the societies that create them but they all have one factor in common: they use energy in their creation, use and demolition. In doing so they potentially contribute to the pollution and depletion of our only resource - the Earth.

They must do also what they were designed to do - not just provide shelter but also an environment where people can live, work and achieve. The trick is to achieve all of that at minimal environmental cost. It is possible to do it and efficient, integrated and holistic design is the key.

As an Architectural Engineering Designer you will make a leading contribution to turning that key in the lock for buildings by:
